It is a pleasure to review the article “A Novel Extended Deep Plane Facelift Technique for Jawline Rejuvenation and Volumization.”

The authors describe a prospective study employing quantitative methods to assess the volumization of the region around the angle of the mandible and gonion while performing a modified extended deep plane rhytidectomy containing a rotational element to the superficial musculoaponeurotic system and soft tissue flap.

The youthful face is recognized by the smooth silhouette that forms the inferior border of the mandible from gnathion to gonion.
